To be first…
Are we not pushed?
To see. To get. To conquer.
Given life.
Get to elementary.
Purchase a toy.
Get to junior high.
Purchase a toy.
Get to high school.
Purchase friends.
Go to college.
Purchase a toy.
Get a date.
Purchase a ring.
Get married.
Get a job.
Get, see, climb, and conquer isn’t far from bite, claw, kick, and chew is it?
All from a life given, and a misunderstanding of that acquisition.
Infant life is to awaken to the Eden of this world and bite hard into the apple.
Buy why?
Because mothers give birth to shattered vases.
We are incapable of beholding the beauty we were designed for.
Worded Differently…
For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members – Romans 7:22-23
Paul recognizes the lacerations on his hand received simply by wiping his brow. He sees the shard-puzzle soul within himself and the hopelessness arises:
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? – Romans 7:24
Despair?
Certainly.
But only for a verse.
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Verse 25 rings out like a shot in the night.
Jesus came for shattered vases.
As I heard a preacher say:
What you think about is what you care about, and what you care about is what you’ll chase.
The direction in which our lives run betrays where our care really lies. But,
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Jesus came for the runners of wrong direction.
The dominate object of care betrays the privacy of our thought life. But,
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Jesus came to redeem our care.
The destiny of a soul is governed by the sum of its pursuits. But,
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Jesus came to rewrite the manuscript of our destiny.
But we have to accept His copy.
We have to say yes.
Every day.
Yes.
Are we not loved?
To see God. To get grace. To conquer shame.
Given life.
(We) Get to (go to) elementary.
Purchase a toy with thanks.
(We) Get to (go to) junior high.
Purchase a toy and give it away.
(We) Get to (go to) high school.
Purchase friends whatever they need.
(We get to) go to college.
Purchase a toy that aligns with the holy passions from heaven.
Get a date and give thanks to be in the presence of royalty.
Purchase a ring and prove she’s worth forsaking all others.
Get married, die daily like He did…all for joy.
Get a job, and put holy hands to plow the Earth, and give thanks for the harvest.
The fields are white with harvest.
The acceptance of His redemptive work on the cross enables us to think upwards.
Upward thoughts yield heavenly care.
Heavenly care yields a soul that chases heaven.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. – Colossians 3:2

Love the article Avery, so much truth. Without Him there is no purpose.
