Time for some real talk…
As of January 15, 2016 there were 44 subscribers. Now we have 119.
Last year TPC published 38 posts, garnered 4,445 page views, and was visited by 1,686 unique visitors.
But I wanted to know what I could do better…
So I created a survey to do some digging on how TPC is read, what you guys like, and don’t like.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about follow the link to knock out the 10 question survey here.
So far I’ve got a whopping 9 responses.
To be honest, I was pretty bummed for a few days at the thought of 7.5% of my readership actually caring about what I published (especially when I was spending 6-8 hours on a blog post).
It made me feel silly. Like I’ve been wasting my time, and then I was reminded of this verse:
But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children, and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
Is discouragement okay? Absolutely.
But not when it’s out of being childish because my expectations weren’t met.
Besides, hissy fits are for suckers.
The story so far…
So based on the feedback I do have, I’m going to change the way TPC runs for a couple weeks and see how it goes.
- Posts will be now be around 250 words (usually WAY less).
- Posts are going to make ONE point only.
- Posts will no be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- Friday’s post will always be in the Stories category.
So…no promises that I’ll be able to keep the quality/research/etc. where it’s been, but it’s going to give TPC a raw/first draft/transparent feel to it that I hope you guys like 🙂
RESPOND: With anything.
